THE SAVOY

The Pink Elephant and Legends were there in the 80’s before the redevelopment led to the heyday of Bedford row for late nights.

THE WORKS

Chrome and Carpet and always a crowd, the works was a standard of Limerick nightlife for a whole generation.

STRICTLY RHYTHM

The club night influenced by the New York label of the same name built up a huge reputation as dance in Limerick emerged from the underground. It all happened on the top floor of The Savoy with residents Niall Colgan and Buddy.

TERMITES

It may have had homes before and after but the top floor of the Savoy was the quintessential spot for Termites. Nosferatu on the walls, Tom Fitz on the decks and a generation of Limerick indie kids rolling around with each other on the carpet when they weren’t body-slamming on the dancefloor to ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ or RATM.
